O-sulfation of 4-O-substituted derivatives of D-glucuronic acid

The sulfation of heparan sulfate, 2-sulfation of D-glucuronic acid, is regioselective as has been reported. 4-O-substituted D-glucoronic acid derivatives were synthetized in this work to study the sulfation of monosacharide models. No selectivity between hydroxyls 2- and 3- was obtained.
