Sumario:A study was made to determine the mechanisms involved in the beneficial effect of an antioxidant mixture on the treatment of hyperthyroidism. Plasmic and urinary TBARS, levels of long-life circulating hormones and reactive species in urine were determined by applying a novel detecting method. Oxidative stress may be related to symptoms rather than to level of circulating hormones in hyperthyroid patients.
