Dentro de ese marco, el presente trabajo analizará la función que desempeña la palabra en el desarrollo del protagonista de la novela. Se sostendrá que la adquisición y el dominio pleno de una palabra permiten construir la subjetividad del personaje, quien valiéndose de esta herramienta se volverá capaz de disipar sus inquietudes frente a lo desconocido y al peso de la voz popular. El estudio se centrará en el nombre del antagonista, Lord Voldemort, su influencia en la saga y en cuán importante es que Harry sea capaz de nombrarlo por ese apelativo. Para este abordaje se utilizarán algunos conceptos de diversas disciplinas que nos permitirán advertir la injerencia de la palabra en la novela seminal de esta serie literaria y en el tránsito del personaje por la compleja senda del héroe | |

Rowling's literary series, displays a variety of elements and situations which can be said to place the text within the biuldungsroman genre; at the same time, those elements work as constituent features of Joseph Campbell's monomyth. This lecture will analyze the function of words in the main character's development from that perspective. It will be argued that acquisition and full domain of a languaje enables Harry to build up his subjectivity: using a word as a tool, he will be capable of dispelling his concerns about the unknown and the weight of other people's voice upon his shoulders. This work will center its attention on the name of the antagonist, Lord Voldemort, its influence in the series and on how important it is for Harry to be able to call him that way. For the intended approach of this work some concepts from different disciplines will be brought up in order help noticing the importance of verbal items within the seminal novel of this series and, at the same time, for the character in his the complex walk along the heroe's road | |
