Sumario:  The main purpose of this paper is to contribute to the knowledge of the rock art of the province of La Rioja, through the analysis of Los Colorados archeological site. A general description including environment, location of rock art engravings and other archeological evidence is presented. The representations are characterized considering types, subtypes,superimpositions, and differences in desert varnish shades. The integration of this data with the sequence proposed for the neighboring Palancho archaeological site. Stylistic similarities are established with other rock art and mobiliary art expressions from regional locations. Groups 1 (periodo Medio or Integración Regional) and 4 (Desarrollos Regionales of Sanagasta style) from Palancho are identifi ed as well as similarities with the Aguada iconography.    The main purpose of this paper is to contribute to the knowledge of the rock art of the province of La Rioja, through the analysis of Los Colorados archeological site.
