Sumario:The aim of this article is to link some theoretical issues regarding biblioclasm and libricide with some events that have occurred during the 21st century. Thus, the structure of the work contains four items; two of a theoretical nature: 1] Biblioclasty and libricide, and 2] Censorship, banning and destruction of books and libraries; and in relation to the events that occurred in different social and political contexts, they are also made up of two parts: 1] Books between censorship and ban and 2] Books censored, banned and burned.In conclusion, the acts of biblioclasm and libricide in the present century are reactionary behaviors that continue in the present century; They are events that denote barbarism, ignorance, fanaticism, fear, conservatism, obscurantism, illiteracy, backwardness, lack of culture, among others, in various social, political and cultural contexts.
