Sumario:The municipal historical archives are areas of permanent documentary preservation and conservation that the municipal administration has generated through its different stages of life and whose collectionis of a publicnature. In the absence of interest of the competent authorities, thehistorians and chroniclers of the municipalities, cities ort own shaveserved as archivists in orderto preserve the documentation and, in turn, use it as a source for the irresearch. In the case of Sinaloa, the Faculty of History of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS), through its professors and researchers, contributest otherescue of the municipal archives, which enhances the historiographic production.
