His criticism of the models that underlie everyday practices in our society clear the long road to necessary socio-cultural change. In this sense, King Kong Theory constitutes a work in which, directly and politically, Virginie Despentes biographically embodies questions towards the patriarchy and towards the capitalist order. Despite the fact that fourteen years have passed since its first publication, the contents covered in the book remain strongly current. It is a book that allows to glimpse the important advances made by feminist movements. However, the very structure of patriarchy, although it shows notable fissures, remains unmovable. The fragmentation of the movement at both the global, regional and national levels is not blameworthy, but it is susceptible to critical review, because beyond the struggles necessarily specific to each context, It is also necessary to coordinate everything regarding the approaches we make and what we make to patriarchy. Otherwise, the realization of our goals and the defense of our rights will be uneven, breaking with the sororous and egalitarian base of the movement.
