Sumario:The objective of this text is to carry out a genealogical analysis and describe the incorporation and institutionalization of the perspective of queer theory to anthropology in North America, particularly in the United States and Mexico, which has led to the recognition of queer anthropology as a branch of the discipline that has contributed both in addressing the classic themes of anthropology, in addressing emerging issues in the contemporary context, as well as in the union configuration of anthropology professionals, in this sense, It addresses the incorporation and institutionalization of queer anthropology within the American Anthropological Association (AAA), the body that governs disciplinary work. Finally, some of the pioneering works of queer anthropology are addressed, particularly those that have addressed the Mexican context, undertaken at first by American anthropologists and later by Mexican professionals.
