The research investigates how children perceive their surroundings and how their perceptions reflect the interplay of nature and culture. The findings indicate that children are more sensitive to stimuli from the built environment, potentially hindering their understanding of natural cycles and processes. This suggests a need to integrate landscape into children's education and everyday experiences to foster meaningful learning and emotional connections with their environment, ultimately contributing to a more sustainable future. Este artículo resume la investigación desarrollada en la maestría en diseño del paisaje en la Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana – UPB – Medellín, dónde se exploró la percepción de tres grupos de niños con su paisaje y la relación de lo percibido con la naturaleza-cultura desde el paradigma fenomenológico. Lo planteado por Merleau-Ponty en su libro La fenomenología de la percepción, sirve como sustento teórico y metodológico para aproximarse al paisaje como fenómeno. Estudiar cómo los niños que viven en diferentes contextos de crecimiento urbano perciben el paisaje y como se manifiestan las diferencias de paisaje, naturaleza y cultura en sus estructuras perceptuales del paisaje, y responde a la pregunta ¿Cómo se vislumbran las relaciones entre niños, naturaleza y espacio construido? Se encontró que los niños se tornan más sensibles a los estímulos generados por elementos antrópicos del paisaje, situación que los aleja de entender los ciclos y flujos naturales del paisaje que habitan, evidenciando la necesidad de incluir al paisaje en la educación y en la experiencia de vida de los niños; como parte del aprendizaje significativo que les permita crear vínculos afectivos con su entorno con prospectiva hacia un nuevo paradigma ambiental.
