Sumario:This article carries out a historical analysis of the emergence of neoliberalism and the North American imperial project at the end of the 20th century as phenomena that are intrinsically related. Subsequently, it links the crisis of these phenomena with the current global context, in which we are witnessing a process of reconfiguration of the world order and a radical modification in international relations. Specifically, the role of the United States in the Russian-Ukrainian war is taken into account, and the consequent changes in the correlation of forces at a global level. Finally, questions arise about the opportunities that this situation can generate for peripheral countries such as the Argentine Republic.
