The methodology used is geographical and historic, the information was taken from primary (notarial registries, legislation, newspapers, and others) and secondary sources.  El trabajo analiza las características del cultivo de vid con criterios modernos en el departamento mendocino de San Rafael, en la transición del siglo XIX al XX, a partir de la información contenida en los contratos de plantación y de la acción de los agentes geográficos que mayoritariamente los materializaron: los contratistas. La metodología empleada es geográfico-histórica, a partir de datos tomados de fuentes primarias (protocolos notariales, legislación, periódicos, entre otros) y secundarias.
