Este ensayo propone un recorrido por la representación de la cabellera en la cultura occidental. El análisis se centra en el simbolismo del “marco del rostro”, principalmente en el cuerpo femenino. Para su interpretación, se revisan diferentes teorías y enfoques sociales que se articulan con la historia del arte y de la cultura. Se consideran tres casos o personajes extraídos tanto de la ficción como de la realidad.
