Sumario:This article proposes a genealogy of popular economy studies by describing overlapping and displacements on Social and Solidarity-based Economy perspectives. It starts from put into question the notion of economy by establishing a critique perspective over the social sciences disciplines, and their present difficulties to understand the popular economy experiences as an expression of a particular historical moment. Contributions from a group of Latin-Americans authors are considered, emphasizing the Argentinian context, and accounting the richness of the recent debates, and the place it has gained both in the public agenda and in the social organizations.
