Sumario:Revision of the genus Perezia (Compositae). The genus Perezia Lag. (Compositae), with 30 species, is distributed in the Andean-Patagonian region from Colombia to southern Argentina and Chile, and in eastern Brasil and Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. It belongs to the tribe Nassauvieae, subfamily Mutisioideae by its bilabiate corollas, caudate anthers, truncate style branches with a crown of  collector hairs, and a particular pollen structure. It is proposed in this paper: a) the rehabilitation of Perezia  atacamensis, P. burkartii, and P. capito; b) the change of P. ciliosa var. dentata to the species category [P. dentata (Cabrera) comb. nov.]; c) the inclusion of Perezia catharinensis Cabrera, P. eryngioides (Cabrera) Crisci, and P. volcanensis Cabrera described or transferred after the first revision of the genus in 1969;  d) the non-recognition of subspecies in P. lactucoides; e) the establishment of the synonymy among P. pinnatifida, P. pygmaea, and P. coerulescens; f) the establishment of the synonymy among P.  pungens,  P. ciliaris, P. mandonii, P. purpurata, P. carduncelloides, and P. sublyrata; g) the rehabilitation of Perezia  recurvata subsp. recurvata, subsp. beckii, and subsp. triceps. Two lectotypes and five neotypes are  designated, and 86 names are excluded from the genus.
