In this sense, a double dimension of analysis is proposed: on the one hand, to think about Basterra's archival vocation in his will to declassify documents of the repressors; on the other hand, to explore his compulsion to remember in terms of an operant melancholy that functions as a political imperative. Este artículo propone volver sobre el denominado “Informe Basterra”, la declaración que Víctor Melchor Basterra, sobreviviente del centro clandestino de detención de la Escuela de Mecánica de la Armada (ex ESMA) ofreciera en el Centro de Estudios Legales y Sociales (CELS) en 1984, con el objetivo de pensar la matriz afectiva que subyace a su vocación testimonial. En este sentido, se propone una doble dimensión de análisis: por un lado, pensar la vocación archivística de Basterra en su voluntad por desclasificar documentos de los represores; por otro lado, explorar su compulsión por recordar en términos de una melancolía operante que funciona como imperativo político.
