Sumario:The colonization and land policy in Chaco and Formosa since the seventies allow us to analyze the objectives of the national and provincial State on the fiscal and free areas of occupation which were in tension by different rural actors and subjects.In both provinces, during these years, public policies are formulated with the objective of carrying out agrarian modernization and expansion of the agricultural frontier, the article develops the actions planned and executed by state entities in the territory, demonstrating the tensions and advances in the framework of these projects and expansion.
