In this work is presented a major effort to try to visualize comparative psychology internationally, their professional and academic potential. The aim of this paper is to analyze the historical place of work cited in the history of Latin American psychology and to present some characteristics that express the work currently forty- seven years of its publication. Dentro de la nutrida producción bibliográfica del psicólogo colombiano Rubén Ardila se encuentra un pequeño texto sobre la historia de la psicología comparada, que reseña los acontecimientos más importantes de esta área de investigación hasta la década de 1960. Se trata de la obra titulada Historia de la Psicología Comparada, editada en 1968, por la Facultad de Letras y Ciencias Humanas, de la Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. En dicha obra se presenta un importante esfuerzo por trata de visualizar la psicología comparada a nivel internacional, sus posibilidades profesionales y académicas. El objetivo de este artículo consiste en analizar el lugar histórico que ocupa la obra citada en la historia de la psicología latinoamericana así como dar a conocer algunas características que expresan actualidad en la obra a cuarenta y siete años de su publicación.
