Sumario:The article aims to describe and understand how the COVID 19 pandemic reinforced, reproduced or modified the urban imaginaries of the inhabitants of the peripheries of San Carlos de Bariloche. It investigates the social representations of the city and issues that became visible in emerging imaginaries. In this paper we find that these images were stressed by the temporalities of the pandemic, the pace of tourism activities and government measures. At the same time, urban imaginaries are crossed by the geographical scales of the city and the territory. The research is based on a qualitative study that used semi-structured interview techniques (carried out during the year 2021), documentary analysis of local, provincial and national regulations, as well as news from local newspapers.
