Sumario:The following article carries out an analysis of the discursive construction of the concept of rural habitat and how these discourses have had an impact on territorial approaches to housing in the northwestern region of the province of Córdoba, Argentina. The starting point is to consider that discourse analysis provides the keys to understand which are the focuses of power, which strategies compose and how this is crystallized in the discursive formations related to rural habitat. For this purpose, three discursive scenarios considered fundamental in this construction are taken: the State, the mass media and socio-territorial discourses. During the analysis, the Plan de Sustitución de Viviendas Precarias y Erradicación del Mal de Chagas, is taken as an example to observe the deployment of these discourses constructing specific ways of approaching these territories. By considering some elements offered by M. Foucault, the article shows keys that allow a broad and comprehensive approach to rural territories, taking into consideration the domestic, productive and community practices of the local peasant rurality.
