Sumario:In the scope of studying the inner diversity of islam in Argentina, this article delves into the meanings of ethno-religiosity among ‘Alawi Muslims and the interplay of different dimensions that contribute to the re-creation in the diaspora of an origin-based particularism. Drawing on fieldwork conducted in locations with ‘Alawi presence, this approach focuses on the singularity of a diasporic ethno-religiosity, highlighting the relationship between dissemination/connectivity, the pivotal significance of two memoryscapes embodied by the village and the shrine, and the local re-creaction of religious authority forms. These dimensions represents arenas in wich the diaspora forge genealogies, linking the present to an imagined past.
