description During the COVID-19 pandemic, the use of ICT became an urgent necessity to maintain continuity of education when face-to-face classes were disrupted worldwide. This generated an accelerated shift towards the adoption and use of technologies in educational settings.  One of the main challenges presented by this context represents the integration of ICT in teaching and the technological appropriation of teachers to generate transformations in their practices. Using a qualitative methodology with a descriptive approach, the main objective of this study is to explore, through a qualitative data analysis, the perspective of university teachers in Paraguay in relation to the transformations and challenges during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on content analysis, the results were grouped into categories that include technological challenges and ICT use, adaptation to remote education, motivation and well-being of students and teachers, educational quality and evaluation, innovation and opportunities, as well as interaction and communication. The resilience and adaptability of teachers in the face of the educational crisis imposed by the pandemic is highlighted and it is concluded that despite the significant challenges, teachers were able to identify and take advantage of opportunities to improve and evolve their educational practices.

Durante la pandemia del COVID-19, el uso de las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación (TICs) se convirtió en una necesidad urgente para mantener la continuidad de la educación cuando las clases presenciales se interrumpieron en todo el mundo. Esto generó un cambio acelerado hacia la adopción y el uso de tecnologías en entornos educativos. Uno de los principales desafíos presentados por este contexto representa la integración de las TICs en la enseñanza y la apropiación tecnológica de los docentes para generar transformaciones en sus prácticas. Mediante una metodología cualitativa con enfoque descriptivo este trabajo tiene como objetivo central el de explorar a través de un análisis de datos cualitativo la perspectiva de los docentes universitarios en Paraguay con relación a las transformaciones y retos durante y después de la pandemia de COVID-19. A partir del análisis de contenido, los resultados se agruparon en categorías que incluyen los desafíos tecnológicos y uso de TICs, la adaptación a la educación remota, la motivación y bienestar de estudiantes y docentes, la calidad educativa y evaluación, la innovación y oportunidades, así como la interacción y comunicación. Se destaca la resiliencia y adaptabilidad de los docentes frente a la crisis educativa impuesta por la pandemia y se concluye que, a pesar de los desafíos significativos, los docentes pudieron identificar y aprovechar oportunidades para mejorar y evolucionar sus prácticas educativas.   Durante a pandemia da COVID-19, o uso das Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação (TIC) tornou-se uma necessidade urgente para manter a continuidade da educação quando as aulas presenciais foram interrompidas em todo o mundo. Isso gerou uma mudança acelerada na adoção e no uso de tecnologias em ambientes educacionais. Um dos principais desafios apresentados por esse contexto é a integração das TICs no ensino e a apropriação tecnológica dos professores para gerar transformações em suas práticas. Utilizando uma metodologia qualitativa com abordagem descritiva, o principal objetivo deste estudo é explorar, por meio da análise de dados qualitativos, a perspectiva dos professores universitários do Paraguai em relação às transformações e aos desafios durante e após a pandemia da COVID-19. Com base na análise de conteúdo, os resultados foram agrupados em categorias, incluindo desafios tecnológicos e uso de TIC, adaptação à educação remota, motivação e bem-estar de alunos e professores, qualidade e avaliação educacional, inovação e oportunidades, bem como interação e comunicação. O estudo destaca a resiliência e a adaptabilidade dos professores diante da crise educacional imposta pela pandemia e conclui que, apesar dos desafios significativos, os professores foram capazes de identificar e aproveitar oportunidades para melhorar e desenvolver suas práticas educacionais.
