| Sumario: | An exemplary piece of argumentative construction, encyclopedic knowledge, proto-feminist discourse, cunning and measurement of forces, the Respuesta a sor Filotea reviews the great stereotypes of the time regarding women. In this work we will investigate the confrontation that the text establishes with a patriarchal archive that brings together diverse voices, some close, such as that of the Bishop of Puebla, Fernández de Santa Cruz, others, on the other hand, distant in time and coming from philosophers, writers and fathers of the Church; it also argues with an anonymous discourse that configures a way of perceiving women and their abilities. Faced with this patriarchal archive, Sor Juana erects her response in which a female community gains representation and acquires discursive authority. |
