The recognition of the bay cultural heritage and the historical links established with the city and the society are fundamental facts to regenerate affective feelings, and to preserve the essence of the place. Therefore, its heritage valorization is necessary from a systemic vision, that analyzes the historical process, the physical context, the tangible and intangible manifestations, their interrelationships and with the city, and its projection towards the world. Theoretical and empirical methods of qualitative analysis were used for this article in correspondence with usual practices of landscape study, and also the observation of the site and the analysis of documents and images.     Desde la perspectiva del paisaje se pretende ofrecer una valoración patrimonial del puerto habanero, entendiendo que constituye un paisaje histórico cargado de significados transcendentales para La Habana. El reconocimiento de la herencia cultural de la bahía y de los vínculos históricos establecidos con la ciudad y su población, resultan clave en la regeneración de sentimientos afectivos y en la conservación de la esencia del lugar. De ahí que sea fundamental su valorización patrimonial desde una visión en sistema que analice el proceso histórico, el contexto físico, las manifestaciones materiales e inmateriales, sus interrelaciones, los vínculos con la ciudad y su proyección hacia el mundo. Para la elaboración de este artículo se utilizaron métodos teóricos y empíricos de análisis cualitativo en correspondencia con las prácticas habituales de estudio del paisaje, la observación del sitio y el análisis de documentos e imágenes.
