| Sumario: | The essay deals with a series of questions arisen from the challenges triggered by climate change which, in turn, have been exacerbated by the health emergency of COVID-19. It does so introducing the particular difficult situation of Kennedy which is one of the largest localities within the city of Bogota: in the context of the highest contagion levels it has had to cope with the local, regional and national food provision since it is the most important agricultural commercial center in the country. After explaining the reasons leading to this situation that have been directly linked to the role played by Kennedy in securing food provision, the way in which the local government has made decisions to face this is addressed. The obstacles and challenges emerging from this ongoing process are identified; and, the main positive outcomes are recognized: a better knowledge of the territory and a reactivation of community networks. Finally, in order to manage uncertainty, not only the need of a green economic reactivation implying economic, environmental and social improvements but also a restructuring and a decentralization of urban agglomerations, supplies and vulnerabilities are proposed. |
