Sumario:This conversation with Ramón Gutiérrez helps to frame and problematize the importance of archives within the field of Latin American architectural culture. Undoubtedly, he is a figure of indisputable significance for both the vast historiographical body of work he has produced throughout his career and his monumental contribution to the preservation of the documentary, bibliographic, and periodical heritage of American architecture and urbanism. The Center of Latin American Architectural Documentation (CEDODAL) that he founded in Buenos Aires in 1995, stands as the institution that bears witness to his work. The dialogue with Ramón enriches the discussion and broadens both the focus and the approach to the topic addressed in this issue of A&P Continuidad. This is so not only because it highlights the immense task involved in building an archive of such magnitude, but also because it sheds light on the critical and deeply committed perspective with which he carries out this endeavor.
