Sumario:In this paper we briefly discuss the relationship between archaeology and communities from our work experience as team members of the Historical Archaeology of the Battle of Cepeda Project along with the Museum of the Battle of Cepeda. We present our first meetings with the community of Mariano Benítez (Pergamino, Buenos Aires), emphasizing the archaeological activities developed to approach the topic of the battles with children. We express our epistemological perspective and define parameters from which we design and implement these activities, questioning traditional practices and acknowledging the importance of interacting with different actors. We recognize the commitment to work together with communities is key to transcend academia and contribute to participatory and collaborative practices.
