Sumario:This paper deals with the correlation between the formation of the feeling of loneliness and the historical process of the media and how it resulted in the construction of the modern subject. To understand this transformations, the literature review is based on the socio-historical process of formation of western society, taking the French Revolution as a milestone. At the same time, it identifies how psychic tensions, especially the experience of loneliness, gradually links to the media. The main approach is the theoretical-methodological conceptions developed in Raymond Williams’ cultural studies on the structure of feeling, culture and the media. The aim is to understand how the feeling of loneliness is associated with the so-called digital culture of today.
