| Sumario: | In 2023, Argentina went through an electoral process that, at the national level, included three instances. Citizens had to vote in a PASO, a general election and then in a ballot to define the new President of the nation. Finally, the La Libertad Avanza formula, headed by Javier Milei and Victoria Villarruel, won the elections. In this scenario, the media play a fundamental role for society. Supported by the theories of agenda setting and framing and the methodology of quantitative content analysis, this work aims to analyze the media coverage that eight digital newspapers of different scale and ownership structure made of the phenomenon. In specific terms, the aim is to identify the relevance of the topic, the topics that were associated with it and the frames that predominated. The main findings can be summarized in that in descriptive terms the different types of media analyzed here carried a similar agenda, that the relevance of the issue was associated with the events of the electoral calendar, that there was a mediatization of the actions of the most than proposals and that emotional frames (consensus/conflict) prevailed over rational ones (government/opposition positions) |
