Sumario:This paper discusses problematic aspects of current policies regarding the disease in Argentina. We make a critique of the dominant approaches to dengue particularly focusing on individualism and biologicism present in prevention and control interventions. Associated with this, we criticize the homogeneous view of the human population and space. Then, alternative perspectives are proposed to address the dengue problem from popular education and critical and sociocultural epidemiologies.
