Based on an anecdotal situation that occurred in a university, this essay seeks to reflect on the meaning of the social and human sciences in times of the Anthropocene. For this, a brief discussion is established around the anthropocentrist paradigm and the opposite paradigm of biocentrism. Subsequently, the thought of Aldo Leopold is recovered in his writing "The Land Ethic" from 1949, making it dialogue with the category of New Anthropocenic Subjectivities. The work closes with a brief thought about the work of the social and human sciences in the uncertain times that characterize this new era. A partir de una situación anecdótica ocurrida en una universidad, este ensayo busca reflexionar acerca del sentido de las ciencias sociales y humanas en tiempos del Antropoceno. Para ello se establece una breve discusión en torno al paradigma antropocentrista y el paradigma opuesto de biocentrismo. Posteriormente se recupera el pensamiento de Aldo Leopold en su escrito “La ética de la tierra” de 1949 haciéndolo dialogar con la categoría de Nuevas Subjetividades Antropocénicas. El trabajo se cierra con un breve pensamiento acerca de la labor de las ciencias sociales y humanas en los tiempos de incertidumbre que caracterizan esta nueva era.
