| Sumario: | Literary Theory, as it appeared in France in the middle of 60s, entailed a disciplinary crisis that came from a problematization of language and literature. This transformed the way contemporary reading was done from its roots. This article focuses on some of this French history's prominent moments in order to isolate what political and epistemological value was granted upon literature and Literary Theory by the chief critical discourses that have taken place, from Sartre until Compagnon. The retrospective study of this history allows to point out which were the chief breaking moments and in which sense Literary Theory would be able or not to extend by itself a certain politics of literature. |
