Sumario:In this work I address the pedagogical ideas of the multifaceted Argentine author, distinguished by the UBA as “founder of educational sciences in Argentina.” I analyze his contribution in journalistic writings where his speech flows with emotional eloquence and exuberant style. Nervi traced the trajectory of teachers from the end of the 19th century to the dawn of the 21st century. He highlighted the strong scientific foundation of the praxis they developed in the classroom. He conceived the teacher as a militant for social causes. They also managed to transform the classroom into a psycho-pedagogical laboratory. His praxis, articulation of theory and practice, imagined new techniques understood as “art evolved, transformed by science.” He highlighted the creative power of these teachers, with severe criticism of the state bureaucracy that imposed limitations on them. For Nervi, “the pedagogy of action is art clarified by science” that is, a novel articulation between praxis and poiesis.
