| Sumario: | Geopolitics has resurfaced strongly due to events such as the annexation of Crimea and the invasion of Ukraine, which evidence a redistribution of global power. This article explores the revitalization of critical geopolitics in response to the challenges of globalization and recent geopolitical changes, highlighting its relevance in contemporary analysis. It uses a combination of textual and discursive analysis, highlighting the constructivist approach to identities and power dynamics. The results indicate that critical geopolitics provides valuable tools for analyzing identities and power dynamics, although it faces challenges such as its limited influence on practical politics. Limitations include the ontological gap between critical and neoclassical geopolitics, and its exclusive use by human geographers. It is concluded that collaboration between both currents can enrich the analysis of geopolitical phenomena and suggests the need to integrate more social disciplines to strengthen their impact. |
