| Sumario: | This paper addresses the Universal Health Coverage (hereinafter CUS) in Argentina, working under the thesis that this strategy not only represents an anomaly or a paradigm shift regarding the organisation of the health system, but also corresponds to a historical line of its development in terms of the fragmentation of the system, the impoverishment of the role of the state as the main player and the adoption of health policies around the strategy of public health insurance that become explicit from the late 1980s and early 1990s onwards. For this purpose, historiographic productions on the health system, official archives and decrees, interviews and research articles published in indexed sources were analysed. In this way, progress will be made on the question that is the title of this paper: the CUS: historical anomaly or deepening of a model? |
