Sumario:The purpose of this article is to analyze the 22 districts that have parity laws, the conditions for equal participation and access to representation in subnational legislatures. We describe the parity laws of each district in Argentina according to the selection of the attributes considered relevant for political participation and observe the resulting representative conformation on the interaction with the electoral system. It is confirmed that those districts with parity laws that include alternation and continuous sequentiality, with large district magnitude and total renewal of the representative body favour the access of women, while those districts with parity laws that include alternation and discontinuous sequentiality, with small and medium magnitudes present unfavourable scenarios for the increase of women.
