| Sumario: | This article covers the electoral campaign of the Uruguayan National Party in the national election of November 1958. That year, after ninety-three years of waiting for this victory, Nationalism achieved a majority in the collegiate executive power, which implied a change of leadership in the country. This research analyses the proposals of the different party groups and how they interpreted the longed-for triumph in their media. It also studies the figure of Luis Alberto de Herrera in his last elections as a candidate, after playing a gravitational role in the National Party for several decades. |
