Sumario:The purpose of this article is to analyze the prominent role played by young people (legally defined as minors) in the construction of provincial and national institutions in the 19th and early 20th centuries. National constitutional rights altered the place of younger social strata within the social fabric and their relationship with local and national public authorities. Specifically, we will examine the public services provided by young people living in the towns of the province of Buenos Aires, which underpinned the political and institutional dynamics and the material reproduction of these towns.
