Sumario:The objective of this paper is to analyze the assimilation of European modernists customs by the black elite that ruled and commanded the region economically and socially from the Chapada Diamantina in central zone of Bahia, Brazil, in the last quarter of the nineteenth century and the early decades of the twentieth. Starting from the regional analysis and plotting relations with European and Brazilian economy of understanding way where the new modernist traditions to the region and how this elite has assumed.
