Sumario:This text presents the partial result of a research guided by the objective of verifying if in other regions of Brazil, apart from the provinces of Paraná, Santa Catarina and São Paulo, there were agricultural colonies with the presence of British immigrants. Usually, there is a very specific image of British individuals in the Brazilian social imaginary. It is in part constructed by themselves but also preserved by a historiography that tended to discuss characters that played a visible role in politics, economy, the production of knowledge etc., never bringing to light, until quite recently, and still causing surprise, the presence of more humble English men and women, particularly in the condition of immigrants. Therefore, oriented by the concepts of representation, identity, memory and imaginary, the discussion presents a synthesis of selected articles published on the subject in the last 10 to 15 years.
