| Sumario: | The following report derives from the transdisciplinary artistic project Proyecto Paisajes Migratorios / entre fronteras /, #PPM, co-authored by artists and researchers Ernesto Morales Bautista and Gabriel Brito Nunes, based on a research under development on migration and borders whose inaugural journey was carried out from April to July 2017 through Mexican territory. This journey was initiated at the north border between the United States and the Mexican states of Chihuahua and Coahuila, and concluded at the south border, between Guatemala and the Mexican state of Chiapas, after crossing the landscapes of the intermediate states of San Luis Potosí, Oaxaca, Veracruz, among others, and Mexico City. The processes derived from this research are constantly fed by the experiences of their authors with the people in displacement – the migrants – as well as the agents involved in the complex network that has been formed around the status of the Migrant. In addition to the struggle for rights in the face of danger and violence to which the Central Americans are subjected during their displacement, this project is closely related to the fact that Mexico has become a great frontier for those who cross the territory of this country in search of the American dream. |
