Zelaya impelled a series of changes benefiting his people, on the margin of the influence of the United States. That president was the Nicaraguan José Santos Zelaya, who was close to his fellow countryman, the great poet Ruben Darío. The recent coup d'état against his homonym, the Honduran President Manuel Zelaya, revives the intellectual dialogue in the present context. |
