Sumario:"Exactly one hundred years ago a Central American leader —President Zelaya— was taken out by the power of force", as is recalled in this article by the Argentinean writer Jorge Boccanera. Zelaya impelled a series of changes benefiting his people, on the margin of the influence of the United States. That president was the Nicaraguan José Santos Zelaya, who was close to his fellow countryman, the great poet Ruben Darío. The recent coup d'état against his homonym, the Honduran President Manuel Zelaya, revives the intellectual dialogue in the present context.
