Sumario:The article gives an explanation of the economic and political reforms promoted during the last thirty years in Mexico. The country.s modernization difficulties stand out these reform.s gap and its involvement within the economic and political field. In spite of the fact that those changes represented an unprecedented political change, political power decentralization has not been possible. Mexican transition experience towards democracy is analyzed as an incomplete phenomena, with a presidential power alternation that made constitutional weaknesses clear at the political structure level.
