Sumario:This article aims to explicit a series of reflections brings over of therelation that exists between our National Constitution and therepublicanism. Argentina’s National Constitution’s first articleestablishes the republican form of government, but what does thisparticular form imply? Which are the scopes of the formula of the firstarticle? What characteristics has our republic? In what sense can we saythat our nation is a republic? I will try to answer to these questions bymeans of a confrontation between constitutional Argentine doctrine’sopinion and the most typical features of republicanism as philosophicaland political current, in order to determine in what measure it can besaid that we have adopted the republican form of government.
