Sumario:Abstract The article presents a philosophical analysis of neoliberalism, understood as a novel rationality of government, in order to investigate the generation of a strategy of government and social control of populations linked to a biopolitical management of fear and suffering. In this framework, the work analyzes the development of a government strategy of the populations in the contemporary scenario linked to the generation of situations of uncertainty and fear. Likewise, towards the end of the study, the analysis covers —with the rationality of a neoliberal government— the development of the management of suffering within the current process of pathologization and medicalization of human life.
