| Sumario: | This paper presents the main results obtained from the empirical application of a novel approach to understand the set of interventions developed by municipal governments to address the local youth issue. For this purpose, the use of the category “social protection and youth welfare systems” is postulated and a modeling of three “ideal types” of systems is formulated in order to classify state production over youth. For this purpose, the case study and process tracing were methodologically adopted to reconstruct the institutional historical development of youth policies and subnational state structures aimed at the youth issue in Villa María municipality, Cordoba province, Argentina. |
