To do so, we pay attention to his writings as well as his insertion in the intellectual and academic field. We describe briefly, first of all, his itinerary during the years of Perón's government, paying attention to both his militant activities and those of a propagandistic nature. We briefly consider the characteristics of La Realidad Argentina, the book that condensed the ideological evolution of its author and that constituted the theoretical foundation of the political program of the group. Next, we address the context opened by the overthrow of Peronism, in which the lawyer was able to work again as a university professor, at the same time that he became increasingly known and listened to by the active student movement. Finally, we examine the characteristics of Frondizi's political thought during the 1950s, focusing on those aspects that represented a break as well as those that implied continuity in relation to what he had expressed in the previous decade. Our hypothesis is that, although Silvio Frondizi spoke out in defense of the "Marxist-Leninist line" and the dictatorship of the proletariat, certain political positions that he had held in the 1940s, typical of his liberal-democratic thought, survived and were expressed within his new point of view. En este artículo reconstruimos el pensamiento político de Silvio Frondizi durante los años cincuenta. Para ello prestamos atención a su producción escrita, así como a su inserción en el campo intelectual y académico. Describimos sucintamente, en primer lugar, su itinerario durante la presidencia de Perón, atendiendo tanto a sus actividades militantes como a aquellas de índole propagandística emprendidas a través de la editorial Praxis. Nos detenemos brevemente en las características de La Realidad Argentina, el libro que condensó la evolución ideológica de su autor y que constituyó la fundamentación teórica del programa político de la agrupación. A continuación, abordamos el contexto abierto por el derrocamiento del peronismo, en el cual el abogado pudo ejercer nuevamente como profesor universitario, al mismo tiempo que pasó a ser crecientemente conocido y escuchado por el activo movimiento estudiantil. Examinamos, finalmente, las características del pensamiento político de Frondizi durante los años cincuenta, deteniéndonos tanto en aquellos aspectos que representaban una ruptura como en los que implicaban una continuidad en relación con el que había manifestado en la década anterior. Nuestra hipótesis es que Frondizi se identificó con el “marxismo-leninismo”, defendiendo incluso la dictadura del proletariado, no obstante lo cual ciertas posiciones políticas que había tenido en los años cuarenta, propias de su pensamiento demócrata-liberal, sobrevivieron y se manifestaron dentro de su nuevo punto de vista.
