The thesis “Weaving the story rather than defining the outcome” focused on adoptive bonding processes involving children and adolescents aged ten and older, and was based on the analysis of case files documenting such processes during 2020, complemented by interviews with professionals from the Registry of Guardianship and Adoption of the Province of Santa Fe (RUAGA). This article draws on that thesis to revisit a key debate within the field, specifically one that questions the prevailing notion that adoption “occurs” at the moment of the granting of adoptive custody, thus framing it primarily as an administrative act. In contrast, it proposes a perspective that re-signifies the moment in which the framework enabling filiation is consolidated—namely, the bonding process—by foregrounding its complexity and the need for sustained professional support. In doing so, it seeks to contribute analytical tools for critically examining interventions within the field of adoption. Este artículo resume el proceso de investigación desarrollado durante la Maestría en Trabajo Social cursada en la Facultad de Trabajo Social de la Universidad Nacional de Entre Ríos, finalizada en 2021. La tesis, llamada “Armar la trama más que el desenlace” abordó los procesos de vinculación adoptiva con niños, niñas y adolescentes (NNA) de 10 años o más, estuvo centrado en el análisis de expedientes que documentan procesos de vinculación adoptiva del año 2020, junto con entrevistas a profesionales del Registro Único de Aspirantes a Guarda con Fines Adoptivos de la Provincia de Santa Fe (RUAGA). Interesa, de aquella tesis recuperar para este articulo una de las discusiones del campo, particularmente la que interpela la noción de que la adopción “ocurre” con el otorgamiento de guarda adoptiva y que la vincula fuertemente al componente administrativo; para proponer una mirada que resignifique el momento en el que se consolida el andamiaje que permitirá la filiación: el proceso de vinculación, evidenciando su complejidad y necesidad de acompañamiento. Busca así aportar herramientas para reflexionar en torno a intervenciones en el campo de la adopción.
