Sumario:Between 1945 and 1954, the magazine Sur published Francis Ponge three times and edited two essays about his poetry. These are the first translations in Argentina of a poet that in France itself would be read deeply since 1950, while in Argentina he had to wait until the 1990s to find a productive reception. These pioneering translations lead us to wonder in what circumstances of the magazine itself took place the almost immediate access to a work that was just being announced in its home country and was just beginning its consolidation process. Our reading tour aims to review the presence of Ponge in Sur and the various reasons that motivated interest in the poet in this magazine.
