description This article addresses contemporary artistic practices that resignify the relationship between human and geology, anthropos and geos, through approaches to the materiality of stones and rocks in coastal areas of Peru and Argentina. I study how contemporary artistic practices activate stone perceptions and lithic epistemologies that challenge the extractive gaze by employing technological and aesthetic elaborations (technoaesthetic) centered on rocks and stones. My analysis focuses on how stone and rock are understood from weaving as a craft technology in Ana Teresa Barboza’s work (Peru), and in Mariana Pellejero’s work (Argentina), who uses frottage and digital sonification. Both works explore new forms of corporeal and affective perception with rocks and stones. Based on theories about the “geological turn” in the humanities and social sciences and inhuman geography, I analyze these artistic practices to contribute to contemporary geographical knowledge combined with geology from situated practices in Latin America. With the aim to question the territorial perceptions imposed by extractive capitalism, this article discusses what I call here “lithic geopoetics” as a notion that describes these artistic practices that engage the materiality of rocks and stones. Lithic geopoetics invites to reflect on how the territory is perceived to open new perspectives in the artistic and geographic field.

Este artículo aborda prácticas artísticas contemporáneas que redefinen la relación entre los seres humanos y la geología, antropos y geos, a través de enfoques en la materialidad de las piedras y rocas en las zonas costeras de Perú y Argentina. Se examina cómo estas prácticas artísticas activan percepciones y epistemologías líticas que desafían la mirada extractiva, mediante la utilización de elaboraciones tecnológicas y estéticas (tecnoestéticas) centradas en las rocas y piedras. El análisis se centra en las obras de Ana Teresa Barboza (Perú), donde la piedra y la roca son concebidas como parte de un tejido que funciona como una tecnología artesanal, y en el arte de Mariana Pellejero (Argentina), que utiliza el frottage y la sonificación digital. Estas obras exploran nuevas formas de percepción corpórea y afectiva con las piedras y rocas. A través de la teoría del “giro geológico” en las humanidades y ciencias sociales, así como de la geografía inhumana, se analizan estas prácticas artísticas para contribuir al conocimiento geográfico contemporáneo arraigado en la geología, desde perspectivas situadas en América Latina. Con el objetivo de cuestionar las concepciones territoriales impuestas por el capitalismo extractivo, el artículo propone el concepto de “geopoética lítica” para abordar este tipo de arte, que se elabora a través de la materialidad de las rocas y piedras. La geopoética lítica invita a reflexionar sobre las percepciones del territorio y busca abrir nuevas perspectivas en el campo artístico y geográfico. Este artigo aborda práticas artísticas contemporâneas que ressignificam a relação entre humano e geologia, antropos e geos, por meio de abordagens sobre a materialidade das pedras em áreas costeiras do Peru e da Argentina. A partir de elaborações tecnológicas e estéticas centradas em rochas e pedras, são estudadas práticas artísticas que ativam percepções líticas e epistemologias para além da visão extrativista. Analisa como pedra e rocha são compreendidas a partir da tecelagem como tecnologia artesanal nas obras de Ana Teresa Barboza, e da frottage e sonificação digital na arte de Mariana Pellejero. Em diálogo com um corpo teórico-criativo enquadrado na "virada geológica" nas ciências humanas e sociais (Yussoff, Parikka, Prudence) e, particularmente, no campo da geografia in/pós-humana, este estudo propõe o que se denomina "corpo - estratigrafia afetiva” como método de escuta e percepção corporal e afetiva com pedras e pedras.
