Sumario:This paper’s aim is to observe changes and permanencies in the administration of the Real Hacienda (Royal Treasury) in Jujuy since May Revolution in 1810, in order to analyze the transformations in the colonial administration and its institutions. The analysis is centered in the modifications underwent by the account office focusing in the actions of a lieutenant treasurer and its prerogatives. The analysis of the administrative organization is considered through a case study focused in the person of an official, and conveys an alternative approach of studying that differs from the traditional History of Institutions; simultaneously it offers the possibility of reflecting on the relations between this certain past and diverse presents.
